Folio Auctions is a specialist auctioneer of paintings, works on paper, rare books, photographs, manuscripts and ephemera, across a broad range of genres, periods and subject types, with a particular focus on 19th Century European Art, British Drawings and Watercolours, Impressionist and Modern Art, Maritime Pictures, Modern British and Irish Art, Old Master Drawings, Old Master Paintings, Portrait Miniatures, Post-War Contemporary Art, Scottish Art, Topographical Pictures, Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art.
We also handle rare printed books, which fall into the following categories; Travel and Topography, Natural History, Science and Medicine, Sport, Illustrated Books, Modern First Editions, Children's Books, Private Press, Art and Architecture, Continental and English Literature and History.

We are interested in original scarce and obscure material from the sixteenth century through to the twenty-first century.
PRIVATE SALES
Acting as agents, we negotiate discrete and confidential sales of books and manuscripts, between international buyers, private collectors, museums and institutions. We undertake provenance research to investigate ownership history, gaps in provenance and documentation.
We look forward to working with both new and established collectors to help build their collections.
